Mazars to make move to Paradise

International accounting and advisory firm Mazars has become the latest global business to commit to Two Chamberlain Square at the heart of Paradise Birmingham.

Mazars will take 11,728 sq ft of space across the first floor of the Glenn Howells Architects-designed building and the firm is looking to relocate the 200-strong Birmingham team from existing offices in Church Street.

Two Chamberlain Square is fast becoming a major professional services hub with other occupiers, which include global law firm DLA Piper and legal and professional services business Knights plc.

Mazars is an internationally-integrated partnership, specialising in audit, accountancy, advisory, tax and legal services. It operates in 91 countries and territories around the world, drawing on the expertise of 40,400 professionals to assist clients of all sizes at every stage in their development.

Rob Groves, regional director at Argent, development managers for Paradise, said: “It is fantastic to see Paradise attracting such high calibre businesses which are committing to quality office space for their people and clients.  Our recent announcements for Two Chamberlain Square show that there is still a healthy demand for new workspaces that can accommodate different and adaptable working practices as businesses continue to respond to the changing environment.

“With Mazars on board alongside other major business names like DLA Piper and Knights at Two Chamberlain Square, we are confident that this building is proving its worth across the city’s business community and further announcements will follow in the very near future.”

Mazars makes the third tenant announcement for Two Chamberlain Square following on from already announced occupiers DLA Piper and Knights.

Chris Taylor, CEO of real estate and head of private markets, international business of Federated Hermes, said: “Our ability to attract high-quality names is testament to the strength of Paradise’s mixed-used offer and the exceptional quality of the scheme.

“As long-term investors, we have adopted a forward-thinking approach and are delivering a scheme that will truly meet the needs of occupiers in the years to come. In doing so, we are supporting the sustainable growth of Birmingham’s city centre, making a positive contribution to the city, its residents and businesses.”

Mazars Birmingham office managing partner, Ian Holder, said: “Our new office in the city centre reinforces our commitment to remaining part of the fabric of the vibrant Birmingham business community, and underscores our confidence in the continued growth of the team for years to come.

“Our new office will be designed for modern ways of working, reflecting the needs of a dynamic and diverse team and client base. It will offer dedicated spaces for sharing ideas, collaborating, and deep focus. Both our team and our clients will find that the office reflects their needs exceptionally well, and I’m very much looking forward to welcoming them through the doors.”

Philippa Pickavance Real Estate acted for Mazars and Avison Young and CBRE advised Paradise on the letting.

Paradise has recently reported further progress by proposing a 49-storey world-first octagonal residential building as part of its next phase of development. The next commercial building, the 280,000 sq ft One Centenary Way, is also currently under construction and will complete in late 2022.

At almost two million square feet, Paradise will deliver up to ten new flagship buildings, offering offices, shops, bars, cafés, restaurants and a four star hotel across 17 acres in the heart of the city.
