Manufacturer strengthens its position

Industry leaders in advanced manufacturing solutions Ash & Lacy has announced the acquisition of Vestatec - an established provider of decorative automotive interior parts - to further strengthen its position as Europe’s leading supplier.

The strategic move combines the strengths of both businesses to expand Ash & Lacy’s portfolio and ability to offer the widest range of solutions for automotive manufacturers across the globe.

Vestatec is renowned for its state-of-the-art Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) coating technology which enables the production of durable, high-performance coatings like diamond-like-carbon, ensuring a premium, quality finish in a wide range of colours.

These high-end speaker grills and various interior components have been essential to the success of numerous luxury and sports car manufacturers.

With the added capabilities of Ash & Lacy, the merged entity will now be able to offer an even broader selection of coated and machined parts, such as buttons, handles, and switches, enhancing their ability to provide complete interior solutions to their clients.

Delivering a positive economic impact and job creation across the West Midlands, the acquisition supports local manufacturing and aims to reduce the reliance on competitive European manufacturers for imported components.

Merging Ash & Lacy’s metal processing and high-volume manufacturing capabilities with Vestatec’s expertise opens the doors to new growth opportunities which sees the company extend their offering to high-quality decorative components to the automotive industry, as well as unique and premium finishes for designers of electrical vehicles as they continue to soar in popularity.

Dr Jonathan Evans, CEO of Ash & Lacy, said: "This acquisition marks a significant milestone for both companies. Bringing together Ash & Lacy and Vestatec creates Europe's leading specialist in both interior and exterior decorative metal components.

"With unrivalled in-house capabilities in machining, pressing, perforating, expanding, and coating, we are now able to offer our clients even more comprehensive, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions.

“From the outset, it was clear that Ash & Lacy and Vestatec share a similar philosophy - both companies are family-owned and have a long-term view on growth and a deep passion for UK manufacturing.

"I look forward to working closely with our new colleagues as we navigate this rapidly evolving, technically challenging sector and continue to deliver incredible parts and technologies for the next generation of beautiful vehicles."
