Ultimate Fitness Birmingham has won the Best Independent Gym in the Midlands category at the UK Fitness Awards at Birmingham’s Park Regis Hotel.
The black tie awards evening is the flagship event in the UK fitness calendar. The awards were hosted by Stephen Doran and Adam Kiani plus special guests Golden Gloves Champion Joe Egan, comedian Kane Brown and Andy Street, mayor of the West Midlands.
The gym has a city centre rooftop location where members can work out, perform yoga or relax with city views.
Based at 100 Holloway Head, the gym was first opened in 2013 by owner and managing director Simon Fan. Simon runs the gym with his wife Kirsty and is a former British bodybuilding champion with over 30 years’ experience in the bodybuilding and fitness industry.
His team at Ultimate Fitness includes 12 instructors, aiming to inspire and help clients at varied fitness levels achieve their fitness goals in a friendly, supportive environment.
Simon said: “The fact our efforts have been recognised by the UK Fitness Awards is an excellent endorsement of our hard work and commitment to our clients.”
Adam Kiani, chairman of the UK Fitness Awards, said: “With over 100 nominations for this category, our judges perform their own due diligence process by visiting gyms posing as new customers. Ultimate Fitness were clear winners due to the energising and positive atmosphere created and by going the extra mile for their guests with personalised nutrition and exercise programmes. A huge well done to Ultimate Fitness Birmingham for winning this award.”
The UK Fitness Awards were established to acknowledge the contributions and achievements of those within the leisure and fitness industry. Each of the categories is designed to celebrate best practice, from quality of work to motivational and inspirational achievements.
