Hire industry showcase event launched

A new hire industry showcase has been launched to run alongside UK Construction Week - the construction event that runs from October 1 to 3 at the NEC, Birmingham.

Designed to show the very best tools, compact plant and equipment, exhibitors are signing up to meet thousands of construction visitors that attend UK Construction Week.

Sam Patel, divisional director – Construction, who oversees UKCW Birmingham, said: Onsite On Hire is an important addition this Autumn, introducing a new stream of latest technology products to our engaged and knowledgeable show visitors - products that can either be hired via multiple and independent hire/rental outlets or purchased direct.

“Launching at our NEC, Birmingham event gives us an opportunity to get some positive visitor feedback about new technology equipment that will help reduce the carbon footprint in construction.

“We are planning to show off the latest green equipment products for hire including solar-powered/hybrid equipment, latest battery technology, new fuel alternatives, and some products even with zero site emissions.”

Latest exhibitors include Genquip Groundhog, specialising in solar welfare cabins - a business leading the way to help meet net zero targets on construction sites. Solar Hybrid Solutions joins the Onsite On Hire showcase with the hire/rental of Trime solar hybrid generators and solar lighting sets. Another new exhibitor is GaiaGroup UK with their hire/rental of energy management software that reduces energy consumption by 50%, with matching CO2 savings and cost reductions of 50% too.

MHM Plant Group specialises in the rental of Trime solar/hybrid generators and lighting sets with Trime UK handling all UK sales of their generators and lighting towers. In addition to being shown on their own stand areas, selected products will be also shown on the Green Zone area at the show so construction visitors can see the very latest equipment in one area.

Uniquely, these companies and products when used together combine to manage the energy for a specific construction site to help meet their carbon reductions.

Josh Llewellyn, chairman at MHM Plant Group, said: "UKCW Birmingham is such a great fit for us, as it attracts such a wide range of end users.

“We already have Tier One constructors in the Midlands using our leading edge systems, but now we’re opening out to a wider set of end users including contractors, who are increasingly looking into this digital space. UKCW Birmingham will allow us to do that.”

No hire showcase would be complete without a networking area right in the centre of the event so contacts old and new can have an opportunity to catch up or make introductions.

The Onsite On Hire Café is being sponsored by The Hire Exchange – the only sales advisory business for this hire industry sector. Since their launch in 2020, The Hire Exchange has brokered over 20 successful transactions with several more in process.

Opened by architect and Channel 4 presenter George Clarke, UKCW Birmingham attracts visitors and exhibitors from across the globe, and will showcase a host of international exhibitors from the likes of Turkey, China and India.

The multi award-winning show will feature over 200 exhibitors. 300-plus seminars, CPD sessions and workshops, and over 300 thought leaders and keynote speakers.
