Birmingham City Council is looking to sell another seven properties in Bond Wolfe’s livestreamed auction this month.
They are part of the council’s continuing programme of selling surplus property and land.
The latest varied portfolio going under the hammer on Thursday March 27 ranges from a six-bedroomed detached house in Sutton Coldfield and a former caretaker’s house in Kings Heath, to shop premises in Dudley Road, a vacant parcel of land in Northfield and a trio of commercial ground rents.
The substantial Sutton Coldfield house, at 83 Lichfield Road, is expected to be the star attraction in the auction, standing in large grounds in one of Birmingham’s most sought-after suburbs and with a guide price of £600,000+. It could be suitable for development, subject to planning permission.
The freehold parcel of land fronts a road known as The Fordrough in Northfield, near West Heath Park, and will have a guide price of £125,000+. It extends to 337 square metres and could also be redeveloped subject to planning permission.
A former caretaker’s house just off the High Street in Kings Heath requires work but comes with a comparatively low guide price. The three-bedroomed, detached house at 43 Poplar Road is listed at £200,000+.
A £220,00+ starting price has been set for a commercial investment at 255 Dudley Road, Birmingham. The three-storey shop currently generates rental income of £6,700 per annum.
The trio of commercial ground rents includes industrial land and premises at 50 Icknield Street, Hockley, with a guide price of £325,000+.
The ground rent on land and premises occupied by a car service centre at 383-387 Moseley Road, Birmingham, is listed at £170,000+.
And the ground rent on a two-storey office building, warehouse and yard at 11 Pentos Drive has a guide price of £55,000+. The occupying business will remain unaffected by the sale.
Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, said: “This is another great opportunity to acquire sites in Birmingham with considerable potential. From substantial homes in excellent areas to commercial premises and valuable ground rents, they all offer the potential for an excellent return on investment.
“We are pleased to be able to offer these seven lots for Birmingham City Council as part of their programme of disposals via our online livestreamed auctions.”
The Birmingham City Council properties will be among scores of lots appearing in Bond Wolfe’s next auction which is due to start at 8.30am on Thursday March 27. The auction will be livestreamed via Bond Wolfe’s website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet.
