Celebrating South Asian stories

NatWest’s Birmingham Entrepreneur Accelerator Hub hosted 106 people from the local business community in celebration of South Asian Heritage Month, dedicated to honouring and amplifying South Asian stories.

In addition to hearing from NatWest’s business experts, the local business founders also heard a panel discussion featuring prominent local business figures from the South Asian community. Included in the panel was Sanjay Aggarwal, co-founder and chief spice officer at Spice Kitchen.

Since founding Spice Kitchen with his mother, Shashi, in 2012, Sanjay has driven the business to phenomenal success, expanding across ten online platforms and numerous retail networks nationwide. Their culinary excellence has been recognized widely, including cooking for the CEO of eBay and appearing on The Hairy Bikers. Sanjay's 2023 cookery book, Spice Kitchen, has also garnered critical acclaim and was named one of Waterstones' Best Books of 2023.

The event also gave the businesses an opportunity to network, offering attendees a valuable opportunity to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs and professionals.

NatWest is now preparing to welcome a record number of new businesses on its accelerator programme in September.

Up to 2500 places will be available for free to entrepreneurs including places at the hub which is based in Saint Philip's Place, Birmingham.
