Three finalist slots for energy group

The Student Energy Group (TSEG) has announced it has been shortlisted in three categories at the UK Business Tech Awards 2024.

The Birmingham-based tech-led energy business, has been shortlisted as a finalist in three categories as a testament to its industry-leading solutions and rapid growth within the PropTech sector: Property Tech Company of the Year, Most Impressive Growth and Tech Company of the Year – Medium Business.

The UK Business Tech Awards celebrates the UK’s finest tech businesses and rewards the innovative and exceptional application of technology that transforms and grows businesses.

Property Tech Company of the Year:

TSEG earned this nomination for its disruptive technologies currently advancing the industry. An example of this is TSEG’s strategic partnership with the online student lettings platform, StuRents. This collaboration allowed TSEG to integrate its flexible utilities packages directly into StuRent’s tenancy bookings process, providing students with a seamless customer experience when selecting utilities along with their accommodation. As a result, TSEG experienced a 68% increase in sales on the StuRents platform as well as a 90% retention rate among its landlord customers.

Most Impressive Growth:

TSEG has been shortlisted for this award due to its unique combination of extraordinary growth, disruptive technologies, strong customer relationships and commitment to advancing the industry. Despite challenges including the 2022 UK energy crisis, TSEG not only maintained but thrived in both employee and customer retention. The business achieved a revenue of over £20 million in 2023, equating to a 500% increase on the previous year and an 800% team growth, to facilitate the demand for its services and technologies.

Tech Company of the Year – Medium:

TSEG’s rapid 500% employee growth, along with it is remarkable 90% landlord customer retention rate and 54% new customer conversion rate, earned them recognition in this category. The company’s disruptive software solutions have had a profound impact on the PropTech sector, elevating industry standards.

Founded in 2021, The Student Energy Group has quickly become a trailblazer in the PropTech industry, known for its ability to change and solve complex challenges through data-led technologies. By leveraging strategic partnerships and integrating advanced technologies, TSEG has transformed how landlords and students interact with the rental market.
